ABOUT SCOTT SWINSON

Growing up in Tasmania, Australia I was very lucky to be surrounded by mountains, light and rugged landscapes! It created a connection in me to the earth, the sea and the sky that is both visual and emotive.

I love the medium of watercolour and its ability to paint absolutely breathtaking landscapes! I have been painting in watercolour for over 30 years and have been very lucky in my younger years to study under world renowned watercolour Artist Tony Smibert (OAM). I have also studied JMW Turner and his techniques at the Tate Britain while living in London for several years.

I love helping people unlock the magic of this medium. To teach them in a structured way with simple techniques that they can use immediately to create beautiful landscapes! It is a unique medium and often thought of as very hard to learn but that is not the case. If you start in the right way and gain a deep understanding of why the medium does what it does on the page you will be free to go where you would like with confidence.

Once you understand watercolour and befriend it you can take it down any path you would like, not just landscapes. This is where you will condense 30 years of learning this medium into a number of hours!
